BASIA MYSZYNSKI – DIRECTOR

Born in California, Filmmaker Basia Myszynski pursued an interest in theatre arts, graduating with a BA degree in Drama from the University of California, Irvine. She received her MFA in Filmmaking at the National Film Academy in Poland, where she met Leonard, her partner and collaborator. Winning recognition at international film festivals, together they produced short films in Europe, followed by the creation of sOlar eye communications in the United States, a commercial photography and production company. She is currently its creative director.

Fulfilling a personal goal, Basia taught filmmaking at the Orange County High School of the Arts for several years, keeping in touch with young filmmakers.

As President of OC Influential Productions, LLC, a company created to make documentary films about persons who have contributed to the development, art and culture of Orange County, Basia directed the first full-length documentary of the series: MODJESKA-WOMAN TRIUMPHANT.

Basia is married to Director of Photography Leonard Myszynski, with whom she has four children.

LEONARD MYSZYNSKI - CINEMATOGRAPHY

A native of Poland, Leonard was born in a photography studio. He produced his first major body of work at the age of sixteen. Attending the Polish National Film Academy, he was immediately recognized for his artistry as a director of photography and there met his partner and future wife, Basia. Winning recognition at international film festivals, together they created short films, followed by the formation of sOlar eye communications in the United States, a commercial photography and production company. Leonard’s insight and diverse experience combined with a deep passion for fine art have enabled him to produce powerful ad campaigns and film content throughout his career in the US.

Leonard's uncanny eye for editing and special effects is seen in many of his productions. He has won numerous awards for his TV spots, film shorts and photography, such as APA Los Angeles - Photo 11 Awards and APA San Francisco - Something Personal or Not exhibit. His haunting images of Jewish cemeteries entitled "Ghetto Field" and "Winter of 1997" remain in the personal collection of the Judah L. Magnes Museum in Berkeley, California.

"Second impressions provoke me. I am interested in what lies beneath the surface of my subject matter and then I begin searching for the ideal form."

Leonard is the owner/Director of Photography of solar eye communications and Vice-President & key cinematographer for OC INFLUENTIAL PRODUCTIONS, LLC. He has collaborated with his partner Basia on major projects, creating the look and overall design of the piece.

Leonard and Basia live in Orange County, California. They have four children.

THADDEUS KRYCZKO - CO-PRODUCER

Ted has produced and developed over 600 productions, including live theatre, recordings and visual media. His work has received 14 Parent’s Choice Awards, numerous gold and platinum records, and he has been nominated for 14 Grammy® Awards, winning twice. His music and story records have sold over 40 million copies in the US and over 80 million worldwide.

Ted’s list of record production credits includes titles such as: E.T.; Fantasia; The Little Mermaid; Return of the Jedi; Indiana Jones; The Lion King; Toy Story 2; Monsters, Inc.; Lilo and Stitch; The Incredibles; Bambi; Cars and Baby Einstein.

Ted holds a MFA degree in Theater from UC Irvine and a BA in Theater from SUNY at Buffalo. He received the UCI School of the Arts Distinguished Alumni Award for 2008 and has taught in numerous theater programs for children and adults at private and public institutions across the country.

Ted, owner of Get Bizzy Entertainment, Inc., is co-producer of MODJESKA-WOMAN TRIUMPHANT and has been an advisor to OC Influential Productions, LLC since its inception in 2005.

 

stroinskiMIKOLAI STROINSKI - COMPOSER

Born in Kenya and raised in Poland, Mikolai Stroinski is a young Los Angeles-based film and television music composer. As a graduate of the Jazz Piano Department in the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music (Katowice, Poland) and the Film Scoring Department of the Berklee College of Music (Boston, MA), Mikolai launched his career in Los Angeles ghost-writing music for multiple prime time TV shows, such as Survivor, Apprentice, and the Expedition. Subsequently, his compositions were featured in video games, movie trailers, and finally his first motion picture, Hired Gun, starring Michael Madsen. His first full-length documentary Modjeska-Woman Triumphant followed.

Stroinski currently continues to write scores for various productions, wishing to strengthen ties between the film industries in Poland and the United States.
